That's why the team at Hampshire Technical based in Eastleigh, have listed a few common signs that suggest your boiler is in need of a repair...
Before we jump into the blog post however, it is worth mentioning that our plumbers in Eastleigh offer a boiler repair service across Hampshire, also covering Southampton, Eastleigh and Portsmouth. Our plumbers in Eastleigh have got you completed cover if your boiler breaks down!
No hot water?
If your shower is producing cold water, it doesn't necessarily mean that your boiler is broken. However, if you've switched the warm water on, let the tank refill and the shower still produces cold water, there could be a broken airlock on your boiler or there's a failure in the motorised valve. Whatever the cause, leave it to one of our Gas Safe engineer to assess the problem.
Strange noises coming from your boiler?
Boilers that produce unusual noises are often on the verge of a breakdown. If you have noticed sounds such as loud banging, gurgling or kettling noises then it might be time to get in touch with our plumbers in Eastleigh. Unusual noises coming from the boiler are often a sign that there is trapped air in the system.
Radiators still cold despite bleeding them?
You may have also noticed that your radiators are no longer as warm as they used to be. As we previously mentioned with the cold water sign, this doesn't necessarily mean that your boiler is broken, but your radiators might just need to be bled. This is when air bubbles build up within the radiator, trapping the heat and preventing circulation. However, if after you've tried bleeding your radiators and the issue still occurs, then it might be a sign that the fault is much larger than expected and is likely as a result of a faulty boiler or central heating system.
Strange smell coming from boiler?
If when you stand next to the boiler you can smell something that doesn't quite smell right, then we advise that you get in touch with our plumbers in Hampshire so we can take a look at your boiler ASAP. The smell might be as a result of a gas leak; especially dangerous if it's leaking carbon monoxide!
